With the holiday season just around the corner, company holiday parties are on the agenda for many of us.  As is often the case holiday speeches and toasts are part of the ritual.  If you are one the lucky ones expected to say a few words keep in mind the following basic rules:

1.  Be brief - a holiday speech or holiday toast of 3-5 minutes (300-500 words) will do the trick.

2.  Keep it light - this is after all a holiday occasion.  You can bring up important messages but is should not be only that.
